Beit
Sefer Chadash (The New School) is a school with three innovative
programs in Hebrew, Jewish culture and Torah study for elementary
and middle-school ages; designed to inspire, delight and nourish
your child’s spiritual growth.
Our
mission is to educate children in grades K - 7 so that they
can live as Jewish adults with:
• respect for their own spirituality,
• ability to participate in the Jewish world
• pride in their Jewish heritage.
Although
the school is descended from a Jewish education project begun
nearly 17 years ago, we still call ourselves Beit Sefer Chadash,
A New School, because we strive to constantly renew the school
with innovative and creative programs. We are committed to providing
students with an engaging, quality Jewish education.
While
families are invited to affiliate with Congregation Nevei Kodesh,
we understand that some want to introduce their children to Jewish
customs, history and the Hebrew language without congregational
affiliation. All are equally welcome in this community school.
Note, however, that, as the sponsoring congregation, Nevei Kodesh
requires membership when a child becomes a Bar/ Bat Mitzvah in
our community, and a discount is offered to families who are Nevei
Kodesh members.
Our
three programs work hand in hand to give your child the foundation
necessary to become a Bar or Bat Mitzvah and continue growing
to become an active member in any Jewish community.
We want you and your child to see how intertwined all these aspects
of Judasim are and how important it is that you learn about each
of them.
Our
different programs allow for different styles of teaching, different
groupings of students, and different locations to help each child
receive the education and type of teaching he or she needs to
excel. A child who attends all three programs for their duration
is likely to be more confident in his/her Judaism, more educated
about Judaism (history, Israel, Torah, holidays), and will need
to spend less time with a tutor when preparing to become a Bar
or Bat Mitzvah.
We
hope you will feel as strongly as we do about the importance of
instilling Jewish values in your child and understand why all
three of our programs, while separate on the front-most level
are really extensions of one another and are necessary to help
form a well rounded, Jewish young adult coming into our community.
