Reb Tirzah

Rabbi Tirzah Firestone

There comes a moment in every life when we receive an opportunity to grow beyond ourselves into our greatness. This is that moment in the life of Nevei Kodesh, the Jewish Renewal Community of Boulder. I warmly invite you to join me in building a “bayit,” a green temple, an environmentally sustainable sacred space and home of our own; to fill it with our families’ joyous passages, with vibrant prayer, and with the kind of Torah study that will resound into the world. As a parent, I was drawn to Congregation Nevei Kodesh because of its emphasis on innovative education and its joyous atmosphere. I stayed at Congregation Nevei Kodesh because of the opportunity it offers for personal spiritual transformation, learning, and holy community. All we've lacked is a center, a gathering-place, a home. Now, through the generosity of the Weaver Family Foundation, Congregation Nevei Kodesh has an opportunity to create a home of our own.

"They shall make for Me a sanctuary." (Exodus, Ch. 25, verse 2)

We love that this holy community of Nevei Kodesh has always been able to create sacred space wherever we are when we come together - whether it's in churches, city parks, mountain retreats or congregant's homes. But when the call came to join this campaign, we heeded it because we strongly felt the collective readiness to now bring sacred space into material form, just as the wandering Israelites were called to do thousands of years ago.
