Beit Sefer Chadash Expectations
We know that when paying for your child to receive a Jewish education there are certain things you expect. We also know there are certain things we can do in order for everyone to get the most out of your Jewish learning experience. Beit Sefer Chadash strives to offer engaging classes for children, an open community for families, and opportunities to experience different aspects of Judaism.
We want to be sure that you know what we guarantee to provide your child and understand what we you and your family can do for your child to get the most out of our program. Please contact us with any questions.
What we will provide:
- A community with fun activities to help nurture your child’s Jewish identity through
- Jewish culture
- Hebrew and prayer
- Inter-generational activities
- Tikkun Olam
- An avenue to become Bar/ Bat Mitzvah within the CNK community
- An open and safe environment for your children (and you) to ask questions and get honest answers
- A community of parents who all want the best for their children
- E-mail updates throughout the year to keep you connected to what is going on in our classes
- All new families to be set up with a mentor family (who has been enrolled in BSC for at least one year) to help you integrate into our school community.
- A way to connect with the greater community
What we ask of you:
- To make Beit Sefer Chadash, and your child’s Jewish education a priority. If your child sees that you value his education, he will too.
- Explain to your child the importance of attending LJL/HC/CTR
- Attend class consistently and on time
- If you need to miss a class (especially HC) let your child’s teacher know
- Be prepared to make up any work from a missed class day
- Make sure your child comes to class prepared
- Attend the Shabbat service your child has prepared for and a which she will be helping lead (dates can be found on the school calendar)
- To volunteer throughout the year so we can continue to have our high standard events and programs. (Each family is asked to volunteer at least 7 hrs. per year – specifics will be discussed the first day of LJL and CTR)
Ways to enhance your child’s (and your) Beit Sefer Chadash experience:
- Stay for the opening kehilla at LJL
- Come to CTR parent meetings and LJL’s Reb Tirzah parent meetings
- Attend some of the many community events we offer throughout the year
- Help your child discover her Jewish Identity at home. Encourage your child to express her Judaism in a way that works for her.
