    Friday, Apr 13th 7:00p to 9:00p
In this weekend intensive we will immerse ourselves in the worldview and practices of two ancient traditions: Judaism and Tibetan Buddhism. Both the Tzaddik (righteous person) and the Bodhisattva (one who chooses to give up their own enlightenment and wellbeing to liberate others) typify the most sacred and esteemed qualities of their respective paths, illuminating the way for all serious seekers. The four segments of the weekend are sequential; each will contain Jewish and Buddhist texts and meditative practices that speak to our present world crisis and what it means to be spiritually awake today. We will compare and contrast two sets of ancient texts: Thirty-seven Practices of a Bodhisattva by Tokme Zongpo (b. 1295 Central Tibet) and the sayings of the Talmudic and Hassidic Masters (c. 100 BCE to 1700 CE). All texts will be provided in English. 4/13 Friday Night Meditation Service (doors open at 6:30) 7-9 pm Oneg to follow lovingly sponsored by Ziva Moyal and Peter Wengert in honor of Peter's 80th birthday. 4/14 Saturday (doors open at 9) 9:30-12:30 Study and Practice followed by Kiddush and Motzi (but not lunch) Later Saturday 5:00-7:00 Study and Practice; 7-8 pm Catered Community Dinner lovingly sponsored in memory of Dr. Arnold Dunn, a scholar and mensch; 8:00pm Meditation, Music, Community Sharing & a Havdalah Ceremony at 8:45 pm. 4/15 Sunday 10-12 Final Practice "Pressing the Enter Button."
