New Moon of Elul Retreat at the StarHouse

One month before Rosh HaShana we enter the Hebrew month of Elul - traditionally a time for introspection, review, and personal preparation for the Days of Awe. We begin Elul together with a day-long retreat in a scenic mountain location (with indoor and outdoor spaces) near Boulder. Through study, prayer, song, journaling, guided movement and meditation, we use the vessel of community to help us begin the inner work that prepares us for the Days of Awe. Scheduled this year for Sunday, Sept. 1, 9:30am-4pm - Click here for more info and registration!

Rhythms of the Hebrew Calendar with Maggid Charna Rosenholtz

Thursdays, Sept 5, 13, 6:45-8:30 pm, Nevei Kodesh

Indigenous Peoples in the Americas have used the term ‘Medicine Wheel’ as a sacred symbol to represent knowledge of the universe. It is a symbol of hope and healing for those who seek to be in right relationship to their inner and outer world. Hebrew wisdom, which began as an indigenous wisdom, has a version of this, in the calendar of Jewish practice. Torah teaches us a rhythm that can inform every element of our lives.  As we prepare to enter the New Year, learn about the seasonal and yearly holidays and associated rituals.
