Additional Shabbat Opportunities

Shabbat Outdoors

Many people find Spirit easiest to access in the great outdoors. During July and August we like to take our worship outside whether to a nearby park for services, singing and a potluck meal, or up into the foothills for a hike and Torah study. We also spend the second day of Rosh HaShanah, the Jewish New Year, out of town at the Shoshoni retreat center, with lakes and forests in a stunning natural location.

Shabbatons: Special Guest Presenters

Once or twice each year, we invite a visiting rabbi to come and lead a special weekend of teaching and prayer services. These “shabbatons" are exceptional experiences with world-class teachers, not to be missed.

In 2014 we hosted Rabbi David Ingber, rabbi of Kehilat Romemu, the largest Jewish Renewal community in North America.

In 2015 we hosted Reb Shir Yaakov Feit, a gifted singer-songwriter, prayer leader and teacher of davennology – the art of meaningful prayer. We were pleased to welcome him back on January 8-9, 2016 for a Shabbaton "Songs of the Tree of Life."
