Shavuot Revelatory Nature Walk and Yizkor Memorial Service with Maggid Dena Gitterman

Thursday, June 1, 2017 7 Sivan 5777

5:00 PM - 6:30 PMBald Mountain Scenic Area

The two-day festival of Shavuot commemorates the giving of the Torah at Mt. Sinai.  This Shavuot, we'll take a short, easy hike (1 mile round trip, slight elevation gain) to experience our own revelations and personal Torah on another mountain peak - the beautiful Bald Mountain Scenic Area, overlooking the Continental Divide. Following that we'll have a mincha/Yizkor memorial service.

We suggest arriving between 4:45 pm if possible.  We'll gather together in the parking lot and at 5 pm head onto the Bald Mountain Loop trail for a revelatory nature walk.  (If you come later on you can easily find us at the top of the loop.)  This will be followed by short mincha service and Yizkor memorial service.  We should be back at parking lot by 6:30.   Event will be led by Maggid Dena Gitterman.

Please bring water and good walking shoes.   Feel free to bring snacks if you wish for after Yizkor service.

In case of inclement weather, this event will be moved back to Nevei Kodesh.  Please RSVP so we can contact you by mid-afternoon if we are planning to change location.

Directions to Bald Mountain Scenic Area: Take Mapleton Avenue west of Boulder (which becomes Sunshine Canyone Drive) about 4.2 miles, a little more than 10 minutes up.  There will be a sign on your left for Bald Mountain Scenic Area.  Park in lot.   For more details on location, click here.
