What Is Jewish Renewa?l
What is Jewish Renewal?
Inspired by the teachings of Reb Zalman Schachter‐Shalomi, founder of the movement for Jewish Renewal, and Rabbi Tirzah Firestone, PhD (Rabbi Emerita), we are a community blessed with tremendous spiritual leadership.
Rabbis, maggidot (sacred storytellers), prayer‐leaders, musicians and learned lay leaders share knowledge and provide guidance to congregants and guests through a diverse offering of classes and worship opportunities. We are both experimental and bound to our heritage, striving to experience Judaism using a Four Worlds model ‐ one which connects us through body, mind, heart and soul.
Music is one of the most important components of a Nevei Kodesh worship experience. By joining our voices and instruments together, we seek to lift our spirits and deepen our connection to The Divine.
Congregation Nevei Kodesh is deeply ecumenical. We believe that multiple faith traditions can not only co‐exist but together help to heal the world. We embrace teachings from other faith practices and incorporate them as appropriate into our Jewish expression.
And most important, Congregation Nevei Kodesh is warm, welcoming and supportive. We invite you to join us and soar as together we travel the path of engaged spiritual Jewish practice.
Email us to connect with a member of our welcoming team. Community members would be happy to find answers to any of your questions, or arrange to greet and orient you at whatever event you would like to come to.
