NKRS Scholarship 2023 Form

"This is one of the goals of the Jewish way of living: to experience commonplace deeds as spiritual adventures, to feel the hidden love and wisdom in all things." - Abraham Joshua Heschel

Jewish education is for everyone who wants to learn, experience, think for themselves and be part of community. We understand that funding a Jewish education can be difficult for our families. We also know that our members are generous and if they know there is a child or teen who wants to be involved but can only be involved through monetary assistance, they are willing to help.

Scholarships are offered based on true need. What is "true need?" We believe in fostering trusting relationships. If being part of our Nevei Kodesh community and our Religious School is something your family wants but it truly is outside your realm of affordability, you are a "true need" family and we'd like to help.

We are excited to have your family as part of our Nevei Kodesh Religious School family!

Parent Work-Exchange Scholarship Program

Thank you for your interest in the parent work-exchange Scholarship Program - available to Nevei Kodesh members only.

We have a limited number of work-exchange positions available (dependent on the scholarship funds per fiscal year). We value your time and energy and if your family has limited financial capacities, your assistance may be needed during religious school in multiple areas, which might include:
  • Being a door greeter
  • Preparing snacks
  • Cleaning up
  • Cleaning and tidying up the kitchen and washing dishes
  • Helping religious school director and teachers as needed
  • Helping at other Nevei Kodesh events, services, or classes
  • Administrative support
A minimum of 10 hours on site work-exchange is required (but more is welcome), which amounts to about five Sundays during the school year.

These positions are available first come, first serve, until scholarship funds are used up. Thank you for applying. We will let you know if a position is still available.

Nevei Kodesh Religious School Work-Exchange Scholarship options are only available to Nevei Kodesh members.

Need to become a member? Fill out this form or email Jaclyn Best, Synagogue Administrator: admin3636@neveikodesh.org

50% Religious School Work-Exchange Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to member families who are committed to their child or teen's Jewish education at Nevei Kodesh and can meet us half way. We offer you a 50% scholarship off our membership tuition rates and you pay the additional 50%.  In exchange, you provide at least 10 hours of support to the religious school and/or Nevei Kodesh events/services. As many children or teens, as needed, in a family can receive the scholarship.

By requesting a 50% scholarship through our work-exchange program, I understand that the other 50% of tuition will be paid by me. I can do this immediately or with installments paid through June 2024. I will pay my first installment before the second Religious School class (October 29, 2023).

I also understand that by receiving a 50% scholarship, I will volunteer 10 or more hours to the Religious School or Nevei Kodesh events during the upcoming year to help offset my costs.

If I am unable to volunteer hours, I will have spoken to the Synagogue Administrator and Religious School Director (if applicable) to have an exception made.

Nevei Kodesh accepts credit cards (with a processing fee), cash or check payments. I understand that Nevei Kodesh Religious School scholarships are only available to current Nevei members.

We will need additional help greater than 50%...

It's a Chai (Life) Priority - 75% Religious School Work-Exchange Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to member families who are committed to their child or teen's Jewish education at Nevei (do their very best to attend) and need a little extra help. We offer you a 75% scholarship off our membership tuition rates and you pay the additional 25%. You have all year to pay this amount (September to June), although the first payment must be made before the second class of the year - October 29, 2023. As many children or teens in a family can receive the "Sharing the Magic" scholarship. In addition to your 25% contribution, we ask you provide at least 10 hours of work either for community events or at the Religious School. A list of possible opportunities is at the top of this page.

By requesting a 75% scholarship, I understand that the other 25% of total tuition will be paid by me or someone I have who wants to help support my child's school costs. I can do this immediately or with installments paid through June 2024, with my first payment coming before the second class of the year (October 29, 2023).

I also understand that by receiving a 75% scholarship, I will volunteer 10 or more hours to the Religious School or Nevei Kodesh events during the upcoming year to help offset my costs.

If I am unable to volunteer hours, I will have spoken to the Synagogue Administrator and Religious Director (if applicable) to have an exception made.

Nevei Kodesh accepts credit cards (with a 2.5% processing fee), cash or check payments. I understand that Nevei Kodesh Religious School scholarships are only available to current Nevei members.

Thank you for your submission! We will be contacting you shortly to work out any details. Feel free to contact Jaclyn (admin3636@neveikodesh.org) if you have any questions about payment frequency or total tuition due.
