High Holy Day Tzedaka Funds
High Holy Day Tzedakah Funds
Jews throughout the world share in the righteous act of giving tzedakah at holiday times. The act of tzedakah (literally, creating justice in the world) is especially crucial during the auspicious time of Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur, when we are squaring all our accounts with God, ourselves, and others.
Below are the funds we supported in 5784.
New funds will be posted for High Holy Days 5785 soon!
Nevei Kodesh: Giving generously to Nevei Kodesh allows our congregation to serve you and one another, by helping us fulfill our essence: heartfelt, transformational Judaism. Nevei Kodesh creates the kind of Judaism that so many long for – spiritual, inclusive, egalitarian, activating and full of joy. Your generous gift serves to strengthen our community to ensure a vibrant Jewish future for all. Fill in the form below to donate online or you can send a check to Nevei Kodesh, 1925 Glenwood Drive, Boulder, CO 80304.
Trees, Water & People: Trees, Water, & People’s work is guided by two core beliefs, that natural resources are best protected when local people play an active role in their care and management, and that preserving local ecosystems is essential for the ongoing social, economic, and environmental health of communities everywhere. Their mission is to improve people’s lives by helping communities protect, conserve, and manage the natural resources upon which their long-term well-being depends. They work on indigenous lands in Colorado, New Mexico, and South Dakota, as well as in Central America, and recently partnered with local artists and young leaders of color in Fort Collins, where they are headquartered.
Arava Institute: At the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies, the idea that nature knows no borders is more than a belief. It is a fact, a curriculum, and a way of life. The Arava Institute is a leading environmental studies and research institute in the Middle East. It houses accredited academic programs with a student and internship body comprised of Jordanians, Palestinians, Israelis, and participants from around the world, in addition to research centers and international cooperation initiatives focusing on a range of environmental concerns and challenges. Their mission is to advance cross-border environmental cooperation in the face of political conflict.
