Friday Nights

Musical Kabbalat Shabbat

A journey through the traditional Friday night liturgy, including candle‐lighting, congregational singing, joyful dance, a sermon or teaching, and prayers for healing and peace. Led by Rabbi Diane and guest leaders.

Infused with ecstatic Hebrew chant, often in the style of Kirtan, we sing and open our hearts to the Divine. Many tunes repeat across services, and always include key prayers such as the shema (credo), amidah (silent personal prayer), and mourners’ kaddish.

Please visit our Calendar for details on dates and times of upcoming services.

Family Shabbat Songs and Blessings

Join Rabbi Diane, Sarah Nowak, Religious School Director, and guests in welcoming Shabbat together.

These Shabbat celebrations are designed for families, friends and community members of all ages.

Time: 6 - 7pm

Saturday Mornings

Shabbat Morning Services

Our all-ages Shabbat morning services alternate between embodied prayer and traditional liturgical approaches. Led by Rabbi Diane or guest leaders, morning Shabbat include a Torah service, where we chant directly from our tradition’s most sacred text.

Services often combine with the celebration of a Bar-, Bet- or Bat-Mitzvah, where our children are called to Torah for the first time taking their place in the Jewish community as a young adult.

Sometimes we have special contemplative Shabbat morning services, or Sound Healing Shabbats.

Please visit our Calendar for details on dates and times of upcoming services.

Torah Study

Please join us for Torah Study! No prior knowledge of Hebrew or Jewish history is needed. Everyone is welcome, and we will meet you exactly where you are.

Torah Study is open to the public (donations appreciated).

Additional Shabbat Opportunities

Shabbat Outdoors

Many people find Spirit easiest to access in the great outdoors. During July and August we like to take our worship to nearby parks for services, singing and a potluck. Or, we go into the foothills for a hike and Torah study. Sometimes we have retreats in the woods or mountains.
