Pre-Holiday Mikveh with Eve Ilsen at Indian Springs (Idaho Springs)

Tuesday, September 19, 2017 28 Elul 5777

9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Led by Eve Ilsen, Mikvah will be held in Idaho Springs, at Indian Hot Springs Resort (caves). This is a HIGHLY worthwhile way to prepare for High Holy Days. Meet to carpool at 8:45 am at Lucky's market South (695 S. Broadway - Formerly Savers). We will leave no later than 9 am to be ready by 10 am to begin at Indian Springs. (You can also meet us at Indian Hot Springs Resort.) We should be back in Boulder by 1 pm.

About the Mikvah

Mikvah is a powerful ritual of purification and renewal used by our ancestors for thousands of years. One prepares for entering into "the living waters" by physically stripping off everything that is not our essential selves. We remove all jewelry, make-up, nail polish, and contact lenses. Then we shower and shampoo, scrubbing every part of our body. You will be directed exactly how to do it and with what intention. Men and women would go to separate caves.

What to Bring

Bring towels, fresh underwear, water to drink, and perhaps a bit of fruit or brunch snacks for afterwards, so you don't drive back with low blood sugar. Enjoy this amazing pre-Yom Tov experience and allow it to take you to new spiritual levels!

Cost

$21 per person - payable to Indian Springs Resort when we are there. (There may be a small discount if we have enough of us entering at the same time.)
