Purim is the annual Jewish Feast of Misrule!

Purim is all about reversals, so let's not be too surprised by an unexpected foot of snow changing up our expectations.  We are moving the party part of our celebration to Thursday, March 24.

There will still be an opportunity to hear the Megilla, Wednesday, March 23 at 8pm at Bonai Shalom, or tomorrow at Bonai Shalom (see below) but the bulk of festivities will moved to Thurday, March 24.

Seudah (Festive Meal), Costume Contest, Revelry and Dance Party

BYOB, Come in costume!   Party will be downstairs in our social hall.

We will have snacks and some soft drinks, but further contributions of food and drink are most welcome.

No Megilla reading - just some feasting, a costume contest, some skits and songs (still accepting contributions to the line-up), plus of course our own DJ Dolphinz will be providing more joy with tunes to get down and dance to. Be there - perhaps dressed as a square?

...and you can pick up your Shalach Manot too!

Bring your own bottle and your own costume, plus $5-100 cover at the door. Additional costume props, alcohol and tzedaka welcome!

Don't Forget to Give Gifts to the Poor

We will still collect money for charity at the party on Thursday, but it's a special mitzva to give gifts to the poor on Purim itself. I encourage you to make an extra donation to a cause that serves those in poverty, or to go downtown and give directly to those in need. It's a phenomenally meaningful thing to do - and great to go with your kids to model and help them learn the value of the mitzva.

To hear the Megillah, all readings will be at Bonai Shalom, 1527 Cherryvale Rd.

5:30pm Thursday March 24 Women's Megilla Reading - men not actively excluded
