Kabbalat Shabbat Service with Noah Leavitt, Louise Fix and Zachary Zimmerman

Friday, January 2, 2026 13 Tevet 5786

6:30 PM - 8:30 PMSanctuary & Zoom

Join Noah, Louise, and Zachary for an evening of music, prayer, and Torah. Together, we’ll weave joyful, contemplative, and soul-stirring melodies with teachings that speak to this moment. Our hope is to create a welcoming space where everyone can arrive just as they are, and together greet the Shabbat Bride with open hearts and a sense of sacred community.

Noah Leavitt - Grounded in the worlds of Jewish Renewal and the Conservative movement, Noah blends traditional Jewish practice and prayer with uplifting and contemplative music. Noah works in Boulder as a mental health therapist and serves as the community building chair for the Unifying Meditation Institute, a Jewish meditation retreat center in Ward, CO. Having co-led several times at Nevei Kodesh, he looks forward to bringing music to the community in a way that supports connection, presence, and a heartfelt experience of prayer.

Louise Fix - With roots in Irish, English and Jewish communal singing, Louise explores how music transcends and connects us to ancestral practice. She is a co-organizer for the Denver Metro Nigun Collective and has joined the davening team at Judaism Your Way to sing with folks across the spectrum of Jewish practice. As a newcomer to Nevei Kodesh, Louise looks forward to joining community in soulful, embodied prayer and song.

Zachary Zimmerman - Rhythm is one of our oldest teachers, its wisdom carried deep in our bones... Standing alongside today’s Jewish teens, Zachary believes deeply in the power of connecting to our tradition. Through his work at JEWISHcolorado, he guides teens in Israel and Poland, as well as supports students in the creation of Jewish spaces across 17 public high schools in Colorado.
In his own life, years of percussion and rhythm offer just one lens through which he helps himself and others feel connected—to themselves, to each other, and to the ancient, wise teachers found in both Judaism and rhythm itself.
