“Turn it and turn it for everything is in it.” (Pirkei Avot 5:22)

The Torah is considered the lens through which all creation can be understood. Since the very earliest period of rabbinic commentary (midrash), Torah has been conceived as something primordial, multi-faceted and ineffable.

In this two-part series, Rav Bracha will introduce some of the key rabbinic midrashim conceptualizing Torah and its relationship to the world. We will study primary sources together in hevruta (sacred study partnership) as well as discussing them as a class. All sources will be provided with English translations. No prior text experience necessary; please bring a pen.

Part 2: Torah and Revelation - Sunday 12/15, Time: 4:00 - 5:30
