The 4-class series is an overview of research practices and sites to find your ancestors’ US records, whether you are just beginning your search, or looking to delve deeper into your family roots. It doesn’t matter if your ancestor is Jewish or not: just choose one you would like to know more about. Each class will start with a 15 min. presentation about specific genealogy sites, research methods and tips, followed by hands-on online research to locate US records and information on one ancestral line. Regardless of your ancestry, it is essential to do thorough US research before trying to find overseas records. Please bring a laptop computer or iPad. Collect as much information as you can before class (call or email your relatives!). Do not leave anything out as it is often necessary to research indirect lines to find exact names and town origins. Students must register for ALL FOUR CLASSES to attend. See Jan 7 event listing to register!
